Iron Infusion Details

purelyIV uses 200mg iron sucrose administered by a licensed RN. The infusion itself usually takes about 20 minutes, and the full visit is about 60 minutes including setup, assessment, and monitoring afterward.

There are several IV iron formulations. purelyIV uses iron sucrose because it has a strong safety profile, is better suited for in-home administration, and is typically more affordable overall. It often requires a series of about five infusions, but the full course is intended to support similar iron repletion outcomes.

200mg iron sucrose Infusion time about 20 minutes Total visit about 60 minutes RN stays afterward for monitoring Typically about 5 infusions Can be scheduled as often as every other day Generally no more than one week between infusions Pregnancy visits may be considered with a physician note

How Quickly Patients Notice Improvement

Some notice a change after the first infusion

Early improvements can happen, but the timeline varies from person to person.

Energy, stamina, and recovery trends depend on the degree of deficiency and the full treatment plan.

Some may feel worse initially

A temporary adjustment period is possible as your body responds to treatment.

If symptoms feel concerning, contact the purelyIV team so your plan can be reviewed.

Most notice improvement after 2-3 infusions

That is a common point when patients begin to feel more consistent progress.

Some plans require the full series before the benefit becomes more noticeable.

Red blood cells recycle over about 120 days

Iron repletion is only one part of the recovery timeline.

That longer red blood cell cycle is one reason iron-related recovery can continue after the infusion series is complete.

Repeat labs 6-8 weeks after the final infusion

Follow-up labs help confirm whether iron stores and related markers are improving as expected.

Your NP can advise whether earlier or later repeat testing makes sense for your situation.
